Advanced Data Migration Learning Path

Provide hands on interaction to demonstrate how to begin the migration process using Advanced Data Migration (ADM). Collect, Common, Console, Design, Map, Automation, and Transform are utilized during the training, which are part of the core components of the Stewardship Tier and the ADM application.

SynitiONE Learning Path

1. SynitiONE Essentials

SynitiONE is the ONE implementation approach for applying the Syniti Solution to a migration project. This course provides familiarity and best practice techniques to manage a project with the Syniti Knowledge Platform (SKP). You will review how to apply the methodology, cleansing and construction concepts, communication, planning, and best practices to deliver a successful outcome in your migration project.

Upon completion of this course, you should consider taking the SynitiONE Migration Foundations for an in depth understanding of the SynitiONE Migration Methodology.

2. SynitiONE Migration Foundations

SynitiONE Migration Methodology is the ONE implementation approach for Syniti software. This approach has been developed in partnership with Services and Product Teams. In this course, you will review the phases of the methodology and the Syniti Best Practices for use on projects.

This course introduces you to the concepts and features of the Syniti ADM Solution in the Stewardship Tier.  You will understand ADM how it is utilized in the Migration process. The course modules begin with Console and take you through each area of ADM.  You will understand the basic functionality and use of ADM.

Objectives 

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: 

  • Explain the Syniti Advanced Data Migration process. 
  • Identify the benefits of creating and using a Hierarchy in ADM.  
  • Explain how the Hierarchy is leveraged throughout the migration.    
  • Define the primary purpose of Design. 
  • Summarize key features of design that aid migration. 
  • Understand how Map functions in the ADM process. 
  •   Define the primary purpose of Transform. 
  • Recognize different object that may be executed or created with Transform.  
  •  Recall the order in which Transform executes.  
  • Understand why, how Construct is used in Migration. 
  • Understand the difference between Full Construction and Enrichment Construction. 
  • Identify where and how naming conventions are used in Syniti solutions.  
  • Explain how project scope changes are supported in ADM.

SQL Server database designer experience is recommended but not required. No web development skills are necessary.

Prerequisites

Stewardship Tier Essentials

This course will provide an in-depth look at Design, Map, and how to view reports delivered to your business. Using videos and labs, you will learn the functionality of these areas so that you will be able to use ADM to help capture the decisions made for your migration project, and in the end, be able to view the results of these decisions through reports that have been designed and delivered for your evaluation.

Objectives 

Upon completion of this class, participants will be able to: 

  • Configure the project’s scope using the features of Design.
  • Use Map to provide instructions through the use of Action Types.
  • Understand the execution of reports.
  • Setup and view Syniti Dashboards.

SQL Server database designer experience is recommended but not required. No web development skills are necessary.

ADM Developer concentrates on those areas of ADM that only a Developer will work with. It starts with Console before it picks up where ADM Foundations stopped, in AutoGen. From there the Developer will learn how to navigate and use Transform as well as processing data through Construct functionality. There is no loading to an ERP system performed in this course.

Objectives 

Upon completion of this class, participants will be able to: 

  • Understand how Waves and Elements in Console for use in ADM.  
  • Understand how to create objects (tables and rules) through automation in AutoGen.  
  • Utilize Transform for processing of field transformation and report generation.  
  • Utilize Transform to execute all rules generated (programmatically and manually). 
  • Create manual rules and reports using proper ADM technique.  
  • Understand how to overcome missing or incomplete during testing. 
  • Generate files to use for loading into ERP system. 
  • Understand how Construct can provide a way for the project team to create new or enhance existing data and overcome the limitation of Excel spreadsheets.
