Course Descriptions

Syniti DATA STEWARDSHIP PLATFORM™ (DSP™) TRAINING

Course Overview

The DSP Development course is designed to educate students on the design and creation of Applications (WebApps) and Pages using the DSP Framework.

The DSP Framework is a powerfully simple codeless web development environment, which offers a robust method to dynamically design scalable and secure WebApps that compliment or extend business processes.

All BackOffice Associates® applications built on the Data Stewardship Platform (DSP) are built using this development platform technology. The goal of this course is to gain a better understanding of the extensive features available in the Framework by creating a new WebApp and applying advanced development techniques. The exercises offer a solid foundation in understanding how our Migration, Quality, and Governance solutions are built and how they function.

Objective

Upon completion of this class, participants will understand:

  • Proper techniques in building basic WebApps using the DSP framework.
  • Creating and registering Menus, Pages, Parent and Dependent pages.
  • Registering Page Properties and Column Properties.
  • How to create and register Validation Rules and Business Rules.
  • Enabling Excel Integration.
  • Enabling Bulk Execution of Validation and Business Rules.
  • Implementation of Security and Security Roles.
  • Copy pages.
  • Creating charts and dashboards.
  • Indexes for Duplicate Detection.
  • Enabling Auditing.
  • Integration of workflow using automatic e-mail notification.
  • Implementation of Data and Page Control Views.
  • Proper testing and debugging techniques.

Prerequisites

SQL Server database designer experience is recommended but not required. No web development skills are necessary.

Course Overview

This training class is designed to provide hands on interaction to demonstrate how to begin the migration process using dspMigrate. Collect, Common, Console, Design, Map, Automation, and Transform are utilized during the training which are part of the core components of DSP and dspMigrate™.

The training begins in DSP with Collect® and Common®. It covers many of the steps necessary to start a migration process in the Data Stewardship Platform® (DSP®). From there the training covers the basic functionality and use of dspMigrate™, starting with project scope and global design, continuing to mapping, data transformation, reporting and finally the exporting of the data. The exercises leverage the flow between the various DSP application components and align relevant data to replicate a migration process. There is no loading to an ERP system performed in this class.

Objective

Upon completion of this class, participants will be able to:

  • Create Security Roles in System Admin
  • Use Common to leverage Groups to organize and manage sets of tables
  • Manage data using the Collect component including creating connections, targets, and sources
  • Create System Types to drive the migration process through Common, with reuse in dspMigrate™
  • Create Waves and Elements in Console for use in dspMigrate™
  • Import and Configure a Target in Design
  • Perform field mapping
  • Auto-generate SQL rules
  • Utilize Transform for processing of field transformation and report generation
  • Create manual rule and reports using proper dspMigrate™ technique
  • Understand the concept and use of remediation
  • Create export files for loading

Once mastered, these skills will be utilized in the migration process where each object is created and run in SQL Server and then registered and executed in the Data Stewardship Platform™ (DSP™).

Recommended

dspMigrate™ course is highly recommended for all Data Migration customers and implementors using DSP™. SQL Server database designer experience is recommended but not required. No web development skills are necessary.

Course Overview

This course has been designed to educate students in the closed loop remediation of data that fails to meet Data Quality standards in an end to end process using the functionality of dspMonitor™ and dspCompose™. The primary course division is segmented around an exploration of the business user experience and a hands-on understanding of development techniques and terminology. At the beginning of the course, students will explore the business user experience providing a unique and unobstructed view from the user perspective. Using this understanding, students will then be led through hands-on exercises, which leverage this perspective, to register ERP reports in dspMonitor and develop templates in dspCompose, in order to construct a data remediation workflow experience for the business user.

Objective

Upon completion of this class, participants will be able to:

  • View Reports based on data from an ERP production system
  • Understand that Requests are based on a reusable template
  • Generate Requests based on the Report
  • Understand templates are fully customizable resulting in a unique request based on the template
  • Understand requests are workflow enabled
  • Understand the data refresh process using Collect™
  • Understand the creation of Report Repositories and Groups
  • Understand the process and methodology of adding users and rules to a Group
  • Create User and Where Clause filters and determine how the filters affect user data
  • Understand the dspMonitor Metrics Dashboard
  • Add additional Roles to workflow
  • Configure External Request Scenarios
  • Configure Role Level Column Controls
  • Configure the template to compare the updated data with the current data in an ERP system
  • Add Development features to enhance the business user experience and govern the data entry
  • Add Page and Role level Validation Rules to control data entry
  • Configure Template and Template Role Events

Recommended

SQL Server database designer experience is recommended but not required.

Course Overview

At the beginning of the course, students will explore the business user experience providing a unique and unobstructed view from the user perspective. Using this understanding, students will then be led through hands-on exercises, which leverage this perspective, to register IS rules in ISA and develop templates in dspCompose, in order to construct a data remediation workflow experience for the business user.

Objective

Upon completion of this class, participants will be able to:

  • View Reports based on rules from Information Steward
  • Understand that Requests are based on a reusable template
  • Generate Requests based on the Report
  • Understand templates are fully customizable resulting in a unique requests based on the template
